Walter (Bud) Jorissen

June 16, 1937 - January 29, 2022

Walter “Bud” Jorissen, 84, passed away January 29, 2022, at his home in Valley City, North Dakota. Known as Bud to his family and friends he was born June 16, 1937 and grew up in Sanborn, North Dakota. In May of 1975 he married Marjorie (Zink) Jorissen in a private ceremony with their families in Fargo, North Dakota and made their home in Valley City, while he continued to farm with his family in the Sanborn area. Bud was a man of many talents as throughout his life he worked as a farmer, owned a video store by the name of Valley Video, worked at Mr. Spindle, as a contactor building decks and remodeling kitchens, worked as a maintenance man and cleaning person for properties in Valley City owned by his close friend Elaine Beyer, and retired from John Deere in 2019 as just some of his work. Bud is survived by his children, son Rod Jorissen of Valley City, daughter Rene’ Russell and her husband John Russell of Moorhead, MN, and a brother Ronald Jorissen. Bud was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie (Zink) Jorissen, father Henry Jorissen and mother Mildred (Brobst) Jorissen. Per Bud’s request he is being cremated and will not be having a memorial service. He will be laid to rest in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery with his wife this spring.
