Karleen Rae Nordquist Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

A memorial service celebrating the lives of Karleen Rae Nordquist, age 55, and Richard Ray Nordquist, age 87, both of Sartell, MN will be at 11am on Saturday, June 4th, 2022 at Elim Evangelical Free Church in Valley City, ND. Visitation will begin at 10am on June 4th. Pastor Phil Ostlund will officiate. Karleen Rae Nordquist was born October 18th, 1966 in Valley City, ND to Richard and Edna Nordquist. She graduated from Litchville High School in 1984 and attended Moorhead State University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She went on to become a Certified Public Accountant and worked in both Dickinson and Bottineau, ND. Karleen soon realized that teaching was her passion and went back to school to receive her Master’s degree from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks. She then went on to teach Accounting, Finance and Management Information Systems at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, SD and St. Johns University in Collegeville, MN. Karleen retired early from teaching and spent many years as an online tutor for Smart Thinking. Karleen passed away peacefully on January 25, 2022 after complications from a stroke. Karleen will be remembered for her kindness, soft heartedness and her love of her family. Karleen is survived by her mother, Edna Nordquist, sister, Lisa Wipson (David), nephews, Chris (Kylie) Wipson, Kyle Wipson and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Karleen was preceded in death by her grandparents, Carl and Ethel Nordquist and father, Richard Nordquist who passed on December 8, 2021. Following the celebration of life service and luncheon in Valley City, there will be a burial service for Richard and Karleen at Elim Cemetery in rural Litchville.
