An online guestbook is available at www.olivernathanchapel.com Harvey Kluvers passed away in Phoenix, AZ, on February 11, 2022. Harvey was born on July 18, 1928, to Ralph and Bess (Verduin) Kluvers, at their home in rural Marion, ND. He graduated from Marion Public School, Marion, ND in 1946, and then attended Concordia College, Moorhead, MN, and North Dakota Agricultural College (NDAC), Fargo, ND, until he was needed at his parental home to help with farming. Harvey married Darlene VanBruggen on September 29, 1950, at the North Marion Reformed Church, rural Marion, ND. They started their life together on the Kluvers family farm near Litchville, ND, and stayed there until retirement. Together they raised three children, Marlin, Peggy, and Lorraine. Harvey was a life-long member of the First Reformed Church of Litchville, serving on the consistory and as a Sunday School teacher. In other areas, he served on the Spring Creek Township Board, and for a term on the Northwestern College Board, of Orange City, IA. Harvey and Darlene both enjoyed travel and did so extensivelyduring semi- and full-time retirement. They took in numerousagricultural tours, both domestically and internationally, as Harvey had a great interest in how farming was done in every part of the world. They also traveled toseveral locations to participate inmission volunteer work. For the last few summers that Harvey lived in North Dakota, he focused his spare time on cleaning up neglected lots around Litchville. Harvey and Darlene spentmany winters in Arizona, and eventually settledfull time there in 2015. Darlene passed away on July 24, 2020. Harvey is survived by one son, Marlin (Polly) Kluvers, and two daughters, Peggy (Jim) Shouse, and Lorraine Stephenson. Grandchildren are Ben (Victoria) Kluvers, Kelly (Terry) Williams, Allison (Cameron) Caudle, Dan (Shawna) Shouse, and Russell Shouse, and great-grandsons, Collin Kluvers, Clayton Shouse, and Declan Shouse. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Arlene Vahl and Janet VanBruggen. Harvey was preceded in death by hiswife, Darlene, his parents, parents-in-law, Ben and Gertrude VanBruggen, and two brothers-in-law, Harold Vahl and Gerald VanBruggen.
