Effie Brock

Effie Marie Clark was born on April 14, 1943 in Eureka, MT to Harold and Helen (Smith) Clark. As a child, she moved with her family to Tacoma, WA. She married Russell Brock on May 6, 1960. They moved to Waterloo, IA, where their first child, Teresa, was born. After a time in Iowa, they moved to Page, ND and farmed. Two more children, Judith and Rusdy were born. She helped with the farming until 1982 when she moved to Fargo, finished high school and then worked as a CNA at Elim Nursing Home. When she was no longer able to do that type of work, she took a job at Hector Airport as a security guard. Effie moved to Valley City, ND where she was a member of the First Baptist Church. She worked as a crisis center volunteer and cared for her granddaughter, Jaennien. She also helped those who couldn’t drive do their errands. In April 2009, she became a resident of the Arthur Good Samaritan Home. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa (James) Reutzel of New Preston, CT; son, Rusdy (Sally) Brock of Bismarck, ND; grandchildren, James Russell, Jaennien, Jessica, Preston, Daryian, Joshua, and Aimee; brother, Donald (Patricia) Clark of Shelton, WA; and sister, Margaret Clark of Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Judith Kimble; granddaughter, Allyson; sisters, Betty Ann, Beverly, and Helen; and a brother, David.
