Edna Glover

Edna May Hopewell was born on August 1, 1934 in Jud, ND, to Harry C. and Helen (Kephart) Hopewell. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Cooperstown, ND. She attended school there and graduated from Cooperstown High School. Following her graduation, she worked for the phone company. She married Gordon Wedman and they had two daughters, Noreen and Judy. In 1966, she and the girls moved to Atlanta, GA. Edna did clerical work and homemaking. Edna married Calvin Glover and they had a son, David. The family moved to Forest Park, GA and she worked for JC Penney. Edna then began working for the state of Georgia doing clerical work until she retired. She moved to ND after becoming reacquainted with friends in the area while attending high school reunions. She made her home in Dazey, ND until moving into the Sheyenne Care Center in 2009. Edna was an adventurous lady and had a lively sense of humor. She loved gardening, dancing, bowling, cooking, singing, playing the piano, and Lawrence Welk. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Judy Wedman; infant sister, Harriet; brothers, Kenneth, Marvin, and Burnett; and beloved pet, Teddy. Edna died at the Sheyenne Care Center on September 25, 2011. She is survived by her daughter, Noreen Wedman of Seattle, WA; son, David (Lisa) Glover of Atlanta, GA; granddaughters, Michelle Miller and Chloe and Julia Glover; brothers, Victor Hopewell of San Diego, CA, Ellsworth (Inez) Hopewell of Lakeside, CA, and Jerome (Sue) Hopewell of Waco, TX; her longtime friend and companion Donny Hammersmith of Dazey and his daughter Charline Gannarelli; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
