Dallas Larson

Dallas V. Larson, 86, Apache Junction, AZ, formerly of Cooperstown, ND, died Friday, June 24, 2011 at Mission Palms of Mesa. No services will be held at this time. A family memorial service for him and Esther will be held at a later date. Dallas V. Larson was born March 13, 1925 in Aurelia, ND, the son of Herman and Edna (Schultz) Larson. He attended school in Donnybrook, ND. On May 19, 1944, he entered the US Army. He served as a member of Company F 8th Regiment, 4th Division. During his deployment, he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was honorably discharged on June 15, 1946. On September 12, 1949, he married Esther V. Hennessy in Berthold, ND. They lived in Minot and Surrey, ND before moving to Cooperstown, ND in 1963. Dallas worked as a Depot Agent in Minot, Karnak, and Luverne, ND for many years before working as a Postal Clerk at the Cooperstown Post Office. On September 22, 2008, Dallas and Esther moved to Valley City, ND to be closer to family. Esther died on December 19, 2008. Dallas continued to make his home there until moving to Arizona in September of 2010. Dallas is survived by his son, David (Barb) Larson of San Tan Valley, AZ; daughter, Mary (James Lentsch) Larson of Valley City; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, Bradley (Meridith) Larson and their daughter, Evangeline Lea of Grand Forks, ND, Lynley (Mike) Esposito and their children, Payton Marie and Dallas Weldon of Bossier City, LA, Shawn (Allyson) Larson of Jacksonville, AR, and Shelby Lentsch of Williston, ND; brothers, Verlund (Marjorie) Larson of Kenmare, ND and Dale (Betty) Larson of Fergus Falls, MN; sisters, Alverda Larsen, Minot, ND, Ardella Johnson of Minot, ND and Darlene (Earl) Stephen of Rochester, MN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
