Corrine Larson

Corrine Mildred Bjerke was born on May 29, 1915 in Barnes County, ND, the daughter of Christ and Minnie (Maasjo) Bjerke. She grew up in Norma Township, near Fingal, ND where she attended Norma #1 and Langemo schools. She worked for farmers in Nome and Kathryn, ND and Fergus Falls, MN. In 1939, she was married to Ernest Larson in Valley City. They made their home in Nome and he worked for Wick Construction in Valley City. In 1957, they moved to Valley City. Ernest died in 1985. She entered the Sheyenne Care Center in 2005. Corrine was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and their Ladies Aid. She is survived by her daughter, Darlene George, Valley City; granddaughter, Brenda (Dallas) Sledge of Edmunds, WA and their children, Joe and Amanda Long; grandson, Howard (Mia) Larson of Eltopia, WA and their children, Suede Wolf Larson and Tiffany and Ashley May; brothers, Simon (Vivian) Bjerke of Enderlin, ND, Edwin (Darlene) Bjerke of Valley City, and Melvin (Shirley) Bjerke of Kathryn, ND; sister, Loraine Moen of Enderlin; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Thelma Larson, Eva Pederson, Mabel Larson, and Marcella Johnson; son-in-law, James George; 3 nephews; and 2 nieces.
