Erna's PRAYER SERVICE will be viewable at https://vimeo.com/644565147 Erna's FUNERAL SERVICE will be viewable at https://vimeo.com/644539263 Erna Helēna (Koebernick) Anderson, 92, of Valley City, ND passed away peacefully at the Sheyenne Care Center, Valley City, ND in the presence of family on November 6, 2021, under the care of CHI Hospice. A prayer service will be held 7:00 pm Friday, November 12, 2021 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Valley City. The funeral service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm prior to the prayer service and one-hour before the funeral. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, Valley City. Erna was born December 28, 1928 in Mercer, ND to Emil and Emma (Raap) Koebernick. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. In 1941, the family moved to Sanborn. After graduating from Sanborn High School in 1948, Erna worked at First National Bank in Valley City. Erna married the love of her life, Lloyd Severt Anderson on December 22, 1951 in Valley City. They made their home and farmed in Hobart Township, SW Valley City. They were members of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Valley City. They were blessed with six children, three boys and three girls, David, Bruce, Glenn, Lori, Doreen and Julie. In 1975, their oldest son, David Lloyd, was killed in an accident. In 2011, they moved to Valley City and in December 2018 they became residents of the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City. Their marriage of 67 years created a legacy that will be passed down for generations to come. Lloyd died on May 18, 2019. Erna had a passion for music, singing, dancing, gardening, baking, sewing, playing cards, and amusement park rides as well as spending time and traveling with family and friends. Erna will be remembered for her immense love of her family, devoted faith, strong work ethic, and relentless desire to help others. Erna is survived by two sons, Bruce (Kathy) Anderson, Valley City and Glenn (Tina) Anderson of Bismarck; three daughters, Lori (Wally) Peter of Mandan, Doreen (Mike) Ryan of Valley City, and Julie (Chad) Roeder of Firestone, CO; 12 grandchildren, Darin (Julia) Anderson, Darci (Jamie) Bratsch, Matthew (Emilee) Anderson, Carrie (Joe) Gress, Jonathon Anderson, Nathan Anderson, Jeremy (Alycia) Peter, Jesse (Sarah Gubbels) Peter, Cassie (Ryan) Foster, Callie (Justin) Schiermeister, Calahan (Katie) Ryan, and Casey (Stacey Olson) Ryan; 20 great grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Joyce Potter of New Ulm, MN and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Lloyd; her son David Lloyd; her parents Emil and Emma;seven brothers, Clarence, Elmer, Leonard, Melvin, Rueben, William, Henry Koebernick; five sisters, Elna Levi, Elsie Karger, Esther Harrer, Verna Koebernick, Edna Maasjo; and numerous brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
