Connie Dahl

Connie Mae Dahl (Klever), 95, of Valley City, ND passed away on July 7, 2026, at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND. The funeral service will be held Monday, July 13, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Valley City with Rev. Jared Carson officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 12, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a family sharing service at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will take place at Memory Gardens near Valley City. The service will be livestreamed, at www.olivernathanchapel.com Connie was born April 21,1931, on the family farm in Grand Rapids, ND, to Harry and Grace (Ubben) Klever. She was baptized on April 17,1932, at The Presbyterian Church in Grand Rapids. She grew up on the family farm in Grand Rapids and was the oldest of seven children. While growing up, she helped provide care for her siblings while her parents were working in the fields. Connie graduated from Grand Rapids School after the eighth grade and was so proud to receive her GED after moving to Valley City. Connie met Roy Holm while roller skating in Valley City, and they were married July 5, 1950. Together they had five daughters. While making her home in Valley City, Connie worked for many years at The Fair Store in the women’s wear department. She later met David Dahl at the Eagles Club in Valley City, and they were married May 9, 1967. In July 1976, Connie and David purchased Coghlan’s Furniture, changing the name to Dahl’s Furniture, and proudly owned and operated the business for many years. They finally retired from selling furniture in 2000. Connie was a volunteer greeter in the mammogram department at Mercy Hospital for many years. She was a lifelong member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and served faithfully on the flower committee making sure the altar flowers were properly taken care of. She was a charter member of the Eagles Auxiliary 2192, where she served as president and past president. Connie was honored as Grandmother of the Auxiliary for 2000–2001 and Mother of the Year in 2006. Connie is survived by her four daughters, Diane Felchle (Tim), Deb Thorpe (Myron), Rita Keegan, Rhonda Smith (Brent); 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and sisters and brothers, Colleen Welder, Audrey Smith, Kenneth (Karen) Klever, Norma (Jim) Rystedt, and Harry Lee Klever. She was preceded in death by her husband, David, her parents, sister Georgine Pollert, daughter Lannette Lock, brothers-in-law Frank Welder, Eugene (Jeep) Smith, and Donald Pollert.
